Four Falcons bannered the University in the Second Metropolitan Chess Center (MCC) Invitational Standard Open held at the Star Mall Edsa Shaw last June 24 to 25.

Baby Falcon Joshua Roque reigned supreme in the juniors’ class, bagging the championship, while AdU Chess Team Coach Godfrey Villamor landed at first runner-up in the seniors’ category.

Meanwhile, Women’s Chess Team members Queenie Mae Samarita and Robelle de Jesus finished their campaign ranked 6th and 8th, respectively.

The said competition features a 7-round Swiss System that has a 40-minute time control with a one-second increment.
