Baby Falcons finish second in Ballout Sports league

A second half collapse forced the Baby Falcons Boys Basketball Team to settle for a silver finish in the Ballout Sports Inter-Secondary Champions Challenge as they bowed to University of Santo Tomas, 80-85, in the championship game held at the Marikina Sports Center, July 2. 

Earl Medina scored 22 points built on six triples to lead Adamson to their accolade since finishing as runners-up in UAAP 85. 

The San Marcelino-based team led by as much as 12 in the first half of the competition but the stacked UST team slowely chipped away their lead and eventually snatched the lead early in the final canto led by foreign reinforcement Racine Kane and former San Beda-Alabang standout Andrei Dungo. 

Adamson had one last gasp after they cut the UST lead, 80-83, but clutch free throws from Dungo sealed the title for the Tiger Cubs.  

Mark Esperanza scored 15 markers for the Baby Falcons, while Justin Garcia and Mark Canopio contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively. 

The Mike Fermin-mentored squad competed with top UAAP and NCAA juniors' basketball teams on their way to the finals, showing their mettle against Far Eastern University-Diliman, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Mapua University, National University Nazareth School, San Beda University and Ateneo de Davao University.
