MBT makes it back-to-back Ws in Filoil with rout of CEU

The Soaring Falcons secured their second straight win in the Filoil EcoOil Pre-season Cup after they grounded Centro Escolar University, 83-68, this May 21 at the Filoil EcoOil Center in San Juan.
Despite still not having lead guards Jerom Lastimosa and Joem Sabandal, Adamson banked on Fil-Am recruit Mathew Montebon who posted 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Matty Erolon top scored for the Falcons with 14 markers.
The win improved the team’s record to an even 3-3 slate, a big improvement from a slow start of 1-3.
AdU head coach Nash Racela, in the post-game interview, continued to emphasize the team’s philosophy coming into the tournament, even commending CEU for “putting a lot of pressure” on the team.
The game was all Adamson as the first quarter began with the San Marcelino-based team up big, with the score even reaching 23-2 off a Cedrick Manzano split from the free throw line.
CEU tried to cut the lead with mini runs but the Falcons managed to answer each with their own scoring spurt.
