Arki studes recognized in ARCHINTEXT design tilt

Two teams from the University were recently hailed as Top 5 and 6 of the 9th ArchiNEXT: HCG Young Designers’ Competition, which results were released last April 21 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC). 

The team composed of Liano Ezekiel Gerardo,Molly Shenn Ladia and Iso Gabriel Samaco landed 5th while Marianne Kathleen Reyes, Myka Angeli Reyes and Jhon Carlo Villanueva quickly followed at 6th. 

Both teams were coached by College of Architecture faculty member Dr. Ar. Runddy Ramilo. 

The Top 10 entries out of 185 were exhibited at the PICC during the 48th United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) National Convention. 

According to Arki dean Ar. Sylvester Shaun Seno, the feat is a result of the College’s integration of and hybridization for higher Architectural Design courses instituted a policy in requiring students to join national and international architecture competitions. 

AdU also secured the Top 5, 7 and 8 slots in last year’s competition, wherein the designs were exhibited at the SMX Convention Center during the 47th UAP National Convention. 

According to the contest bried, ArchiNEXT: HCG Young Designers’ Competition challenges the ingenuity and proficiency of young students to design sound yet sustainable Architectural masterpieces. It is a platform that will test and showcase their limitless creativity.
