Adamson University’s Girls Volleyball Team added another silver medal to their season haul after placing second place in the UAAP 85 Girls’ Beach Volleyball Tournament.

The girls bowed to undefeated University of Santo Tomas, 21-17, 21-17, in the competitions’ maiden run in the league last May 3 at the SM Sands by the Bay in Pasay City.

UST was up 16-18 in the second set before eventual Most Valuable Player Grydelle Matibag punched two hits to give championship point for the Espana-based team.

UAAP 85 Girls’ Indoor Volleyball Best Outside Spiker Shaina Nitura then answered with a rousing attack to keep her team afloat before Matibag eventually closed out the game with a power tip.

Nitura and Felicity Sagaysay also gave UST a run for their money in the opening set, going point for point, putting the score at 16-18 but eventually succumbed to their foes’ pressure.

Baby Lady Falcon spiker Red Bascon is also part of the team that represented San Marcelino in the said competition.
