The Lady Falcons ended their historic UAAP 85 Women’s Volleyball campaign in third place after bowing to National University, 25-22, 22-25, 12-25, 15-25, in their semi-final match-up, May 3, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Adamson had a blistering start with Lorene Toring leading the charge to snatch the first set 25-22 and the early advantage in the match.
NU, though, recovered in the second set and launched an attacking barrage that towed them to an eight-point lead in the middle of the set. Adamson unleashed their own scoring run that fell short as NU secured the second frame.
The San Marcelino-based squad was not able to recover in the third and fourth sets as NU already dominated both cantos to close out Adamson in four sets.
Kate Santiago was the lone bright spot for the Lady Falcons, scoring 15 points off nine attacks and six blocks, while Toring had 11 markers on 11 kills. Lucille Almonte had nine points to her name.
Adamson, though, missed the scoring from rookie attacker Trisha Tubu who was held to six points.
