Falcon booters close out season strong; secures draw vs UE

The University’s football team held their ground to force a goalless draw with University of the East in the UAAP 85 Men’s Football Tournament at the UP Diliman Football Field, April 30.
Despite finishing their campaign at seventh place with two draws and 10 defeats, the Falcon Booters ended their season on a high note, which left a silver lining for next season, at the same time eliminating Final Four contenders UE from the postseason.
AdU head coach Jeffrey Orada expressed excitement over the effort that his team showed, and their future come the following UAAP seasons.
“Masaya syempre kasi yung mga bata nag step-up talaga kahit yung standing namin is wala talagang panalo and yet binigay nila yung anong meron sila,” he said.
“From the start, ang pangit ng start ng season. Maraming nangyaring issue. Gayunpaman, hanggang dulo, maganda naman yung pinakita nila.”
The San Marcelino team almost reached the back of the net in multiple instances as attempts from Demnes Arañas and Jhon Devon Coquillo were saved by the UE goalkeeper.
“Yung boys, sinet up ko na talaga sila for the next season,” Orada continued.
“Kasi wala na kaming inaano na umangat. Para din mag-boost din ng confidence ng mga bata kahit lahat ng ginamit ko dito ay puro rookies.”
