The Lady Falcons continued their stellar run in the UAAP 85 Women’s Volleyball tournament, this time, dispatching University of the East 25-16, 25-19, 20-25, 27-25, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
Adamson, though, needed to recover from a third set meltdown which led them to drop the set.
The Lady Falcons led by three late in the fourth, 22-19, but Van Bangayan led UE to foce a deadlock at 25.
Lucille Almonte then went off-the-block before UE's KC Cepada's attack did not cross to give Adamson the 8-3 record, half a game ahead of University of Santo Tomas and National University, that are both sporting 7-3 win-loss cards.
"Tumagal pa; muntik pa kaming matalo. Good thing nagrecover pa rin. I'd like to look at the positives," head coach Jerry Yee quipped.
"We have to work on ourselves -- yung kakaba-kaba, yung pressure, yung kung anu-ano yung iniisip.”
Kate Santiago topscored for the San Marcelino crew, with 18 points while Trisha Tubu had 13.
Almonte had nine points, nine receptions, and 13 digs, while Lorene Toring and Ckyle Tagsip added nine and seven points to their names.
Adamson will next face top-seed La Salle this April 19 as they continue to vie for a twice-to-beat advantage come the Final Four competitions.
