Men’s Volleyball team ends first round with breakthrough win after rout of UP

The Falcon spikers ended the UAAP 85 Volleyball tournament first round on a positive note after soaring over University of the Philippines, 25-16, 25-19, 25-22, at Mall of Asia Arena on March 22. 

With the win, Adamson secured their maiden win of the season, giving them confidence at the beginning of the secound round of competition. 
 
Head coach George Pascua, in the post-game interview, said the win was a result of their hard work and perseverance on and off the court. 
 
"Dalawang bagay lang ang sinabi ko sa kanila: Maniwala't magtiwala. Maniwala sa sistema at magtiwala sa sarili," he said. 
 
Adamson trailed most of the third set, but former Baby Falcons standout Evander Novillo scored two crucial aces to will his team to a comeback and close out their Diliman-based opposition. 

Novillo led the Falcons with 11 points on seven attacks, two blocks, and two aces, while Leo Caguimbal added nine. 

Jude Aguilar and Josh Magalaman both contributed eight points. Setter John Gay, on the other hand, posted nine excellent sets and seven points.
