There will be a Game 3.
The Baby Falcons forced a winner-take-all decider in the UAAP Season 85 Girls' Volleyball Finals after a pulsating 21-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-21, 15-13 Game 2 victory over National University Nazareth School this March 18 at the Paco Arena.
Adamson’s win also ended the Lady Bullpups' 23-match winning streak dating back to Season 82 when they swept the tournament 14-0.
The San Marcelino team was leading in the fifth set when NUNS committed back-to-back errors, which put Adamson by three.
Newly minted season 1st Best Outside Spiker Shaira Nitura and Felicity Sagaysay then sealed the game for their team with a back-row attack and a return that the opposing team failed to return. Juris Manuel was also hailed as the tournament’s best libero.
Adamson Head Coach JP Yude lauded his girls’ performance and composure amid the crucial game against the reigning champions.
It was a back-and-forth affair as both teams exchanged attacks and errors in the tightly contested game, and for Yude, Game 3 will be about the smallest adjustments.
The deciding Game 3 is scheduled for March 20 at the same venue.
