The Baby Falcons bowed to FEU, 76-77, to secure a silver medal finish in the UAAP 85 Boys’ Basketball tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan, March 17.

It was a case of breaks of the game for the boys in blue and white as they have multiple chances to close out their foes, but crucial turnovers and miscues spelled their defeat.

Adamson was leading 76-73 off a booming trey from Earl Medina and a clutch mid-range hit from Justine Garcia, but four cold freebies from Janrey Pasaol dying minutes of the final canto took back the lead for FEU to force Adamson to commit fouls to conserve the remaining ticks.

A crucial basket from Garcia was then waived off after referees ruled that his attempt was released after their shot clock expired.

The Baby Falcons missed another opportunity after a failed fastbreak attempt which negated an opportunity for them to take the lead.

Medina was able to launch a potential game-winner from three for the San Marcelino crew, but his shot came up short.

Garcia finished with 20 points, six rebounds and three assists while Carlo Bonzalida chipped in 15 points and nine boards for the Baby Falcons.
