The Baby Falcons seemed to be still getting accustomed to the title scene as they succumb to perennial powerhouse FEU, 74-85, in Game 1 of their best-of-three championship series in the UAAP Boys’ Basketball tournament held March 14 at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

This was the first time that Adamson made it to the final dance since the team led by Leo Canuday faced Ateneo in 2003.

The San Marcelino team had a big second quarter, pushing their lead to 50-39 as they capitalized on the Baby Tamaraws’ miscues while converting their own baskets off fastbreaks and three-point hits.

FEU, however, mounted a massive comeback in the second half, where Baby Falcons were outscored 9-21 in the third quarter and surrendered the lead to their foes entering the final frame, 59-60.

Coach Mike Fermin’s team were not able to recover as they were limited to just 24 points throughout the third and fourth cantos.

Peter Rosillo led the Baby Falcons with 19 points and 5 rebounds, while Carlo Bonzalida had 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Adamson will try to force a decider come Game 2 scheduled this March 17, 4pm. If the Baby Falcons are successful in their comeback, Game 3 of the finals will be held on March 21, 2pm, at the same venue.
