The girls’ volleyball team will be moving on to the final's competition of the UAAP 85 Girls’ Volleyball tournament despite dropping their last game of the eliminations against Nazareth School of National University (NSNU), 18-25, 25-23, 23-25, 27-25, 13-15, held March 9 at the Paco Arena.

The Baby Lady Falcons, however, can get their revenge at the championship series as they will also face NSNU this March 16.

In an interview with main backer, Akari Sports, head coach JP Yude continued to laud and challenge his girls’ mental toughness as they approached another affair with the Jhocson-based team.

“I appreciate all the effort ng mga bata. Ipinakita naman nila na they did their best kaya sa dulo, wala silang regrets, kinapos lang talaga. At least ngayon, alam naming kaya namin,” he said.

This was a welcome development as the Baby Lady Falcons have lost their last two elimination games with NSNU and UST.

“Sa una nakikita nila NU, malakas. Sabi ko sa kanila palaging malakas ang NU, anong kailangan natin gawin? Magtiwala sa sarili. Kaya nakakuha sila ng kumpyansa,” Yude said. “Lalong tumaas ang confidence ng mga bata kasi nakikita nila ano pang kaya nila.”

Adamson will continue banking on the scoring prowess of team captain Shaira Nitura, along with middle blocker Eloi Aljibe.

The playmaking of setter Chen Cuenca, who played with a minor finger injury in their previous match, will also be crucial in their attempt to snatch the title from their foes, who have been in the finals for most of the recent seasons of the UAAP.
