Lady Falcons arrest second-set meltdown to soar over FEU

The University’s volleybelles averted an extended second-set defeat to down Far Eastern University, 25-21, 24-26, 25-14, 25-21, in the the UAAP Season 85 Women's Volleyball tournament, March 4 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Crucial scores from Trisha Tubu and Lucille Almonte steered the Lady Falcons to their second victory.
Two consecutive kills from Tubu provided afour-point cushion for Adamson at 22-18, forcing the Morayta-based team to call for a timeout.
Almonte then pushed the San Marcelino team to match point before FEU's Alyzza Devosora committed an attack error to close out the contest.
With the win, the Lady Falcons improved their record to a 2-1 card.
"I'm very happy that we got through FEU. Yung mga must-wins natin, kailangang we take care of business," head coach Jerry Yee said.
Lefty spiker Kate Santiago led the Lady Falcons with 18 points built on 17 attacks, while Lorene Toring tallied 14 points from nine attacks and three blocks along with two service aces.
Team captain and star setter Louie Romero also registered 25 excellent sets to organize her team’s offense.
Adamson will next face University of Santo Tomas this March 8 in a battle of Final Four contenders.
