The Lady Falcons showed why they are regarded as one of the Final Four hopefuls of the UAAP 85 Women’s Volleyball Tournament.

Adamson only needed an hour to close out University of the East via a 25-19, 25-9, 25-5 sweep to begin their campaign last February at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The game began with a tightly contested opening set with Adamson clinging to a 20-18 lead, before the Lady Falcons unleashed a 5-1 run to bag their first set of the season.

Adamson then blew the game wide open in the succeeding sets, punctuated by a 17-3 barrage in the second frame.

Lady Falcons’ first-year head coach Jerry Yee lauded his wards for their performance.

"Good game for us to get playing time for all the players. Hopefully, the following games ma-sustain namin ito," he said.

Adamson dominated all scoring departments, including spiking (39-24), blocking (9-1), and service (4-0).

Lucille Almonte led the San Marcelino crew with 12 points built on 10 attacks to go along with eight excellent digs. Rookie phenom Trisha Tubu, meanwhile, had 11 points in her debut.

Ayesha Juegos and Kate Santiago both talled seven markers while Lorene Toring scored five.
