CAO treats community with Valentine’s Day films, screens Cinemalaya films anew

Film culture continues to flourish in the University as the Cultural Affairs Office (CAO) screened two films from Cinemalaya as Valentine’s Day Treat for the community at the Adamson University Theater, February 14.
The featured films, Dagsin by Atom Magadia and Martika Ramirez – Pusing Escobar’s Pusong Bato, is the second leg of the Cinemalaya showcase and part of the celebration of National Arts Month under the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Arthouse Cinema.
Mr. Marasigan also officially presented the Certificate of Recognition to CAO as a new partner institution. The University and the office were represented by its Director, Ms. Cathy Cequeña, Fr. Manimtim.
“I would like to thank the CCP for inking a partnership with Adamson University. I see this as an excellent venue which offers privileged access to quality films like the two that we will be watching today that have earned multiple awards,” University President Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim, CM said as he welcomed the attendees.
For his part, CCP Vice President and Artistic Director Dennis Marasigan expressed gratitude of the University’s participation with the Center’s Pasinaya initiative which garnered 10,000 goers for the Paseo Museo program and 34,000 total for all the featured events.
Mr. Marasigan also lauded CAO for its role in promoting arts along with the CCP and revealed that there could be more culture and arts-related tie-ups between them and AdU.
“The CCP is undergoing a rehabilitation and renovation that will take the most part of the next three years, but that does not mean that the activities of the CCP will stop. In fact, we will be going to where the audience are – to where you are,” he said.
