Peter Rosillo continues his stellar play as he led the Baby Falcons to an 81-70 romp of UP Integrated School in the UAAP 85 Boys’ Basketball Tournament held February 12 at the Filoil EcoOil Center in San Juan.
The Surigao native posted 23 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead Adamson to its eighth straight victory since dropping their opening game to Nazareth School of National University (NSNU), who they will also face next this February 15.
And with NSNU as their next opponents, head coach Mike Fermin mentioned that he still wants more from his wards, especially in limiting mistakes which they cannot afford against the league’s reigning back-to-back titlists.
"It was a good game [against UPIS], but it was a sloppy win for us. Ang dami naming turnovers, mga miscues sa defense. It means na marami pang kailangang ayusin going into that game against a very strong team," said Fermin.
Meanwhile, Rosillo revealed that some of the lapses were from a “bad practice” the day before the game.
"Malaking epekto yung bad practice namin pero dahil sa sistema, nagawan namin ng paraan ma-correct yung mistakes namin sa defense. Still, nakuha pa namin ang panalo," he said.
The Baby Falcons out-assisted UPIS 24-13, which reflected on their stellar field goal percentage at 54% against the Diliman team’s 39%.
Justine Garcia chipped in 16 points and seven dimes, while Mat Edding had nine markers, seven caroms and five assists.
Quarter Scores: 24-19, 47-34, 61-53, 81-70.
