Adamson overcame a slow start to down University of the Philippines Integrated School, 83-67, in the UAAP 85 Boys’ Basketball Tournament held at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan, January 25.

Carl Bonzalida and Earl Medina held the fort for the Baby Falcons as mainstays Peter Rosillo and Vince Reyes were benched throughout the first half for disciplinary reasons.

Bonzalida and Reyes both tallied 14 points, with the former adding seven rebounds, four assists and two steals, while the latter recorded five boards, two dimes and a steal.

With Rosillo and Reyes at the bench, the San Marcelino crew had a dogfight with UPIS, eventually ending the first two quarters down by five, 39-44.

Coach Mike Fermin’s wards then uncorked a 29-point third quarter to finally pull away from their foes, 68-57.

Rosillo and Reyes still tallied 13 and 10 markers respectively after playing almost the whole second half.

The Baby Falcons next face the UST Tiger Cubs, 4PM, at the San Andres Sports Complex in Malate.
