CM Philippines shows support to Robredo-Pangilinan tandem

The Congregation of the Mission Philippine Province officially endorsed the candidacy of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan.
In a Statement of Support released last February 24, the Vincentians made it clear the they “support the candidates who consistently defend the poor from powers that relegate them towards the precipice of mainstream society.”
The statement shared by social media pages of different Vincentian institutions in the Philippines also explained the group’s criteria in choosing their candidate, namely Respect for Life and Human Dignity, Integrity and Accountability, Care for Environment and Territorial Integrity and Empowerment of People at the Margins.

They further quoted their founder, St. Vincent de Paul, to elaborate on their choice, saying, “There is no act of charity that is not accompanied by justice,” they wrote.
“Let us choose candidates who will make justice and integrity flourish in our land.”
In a separate statement, the Vincentian Family in the Philippines also chose to back the Leni-Kiko tandem, owing to competence, character, compassion, commitment, respect for life and human dignity and empowerment of the poor and vulnerable sectors of society.
Vincentian leaders in the Philippines signed the said statement include CM Provincial Visitor Fr. Gregorio Banaga, Jr., Daughters of Charity Provincial Visitatrix Sr. Mary Ann Evidente, DC, Sister Handmaids of Charity Superior Sr. Luisa Nemis, SMdC, Society of Saint Vincent de Paul President Maria Clara Maglalang, Children of Mary – Vincentian Marian Youth Advisor Rolando Limjoco, CM, and Laities of Charity – AIC President Teresita Fajardo.
