Falcon alum Camacho bags Filbasket MVP; gets signed to PBA

Simon Camacho did not waste time to spread his wings and soar high in the pros.

This is as the former captain of the Soaring Falcons received a contract from PBA’s Phoenix Fuelmasters after his mesmerizing performance in the Filbasket Subic Championship where he was hailed as the inaugural MVP.

Camacho assumed the role nbas main cog for Medical Depot, still flashing the same motor that led him to be the primary utility guy and leader in then Adamson coach Franz Pumaren’s high octane system.

The 6’5 forward posted per game averages of 14.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and 3.6 blocks while leading his team to the quarterfinals.

He was also part of the All-Filbasket Tournament Team along with Orlan Wamar (San Juan), Michael Mabulac (AICC Manila), Renz Palma (Nueva Ecija) and Thomas Torres (Muntinlupa).

The IT alum was initially drafted 34th overall in the 2019 PBA Rookie Draft by TNT yet he was not offered an official contract. He then moved on to play for Bacolod Master Sardines in the Lakan Season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.
