Let Mary be our role model: Cardinal Advincula tells faithful in Miraculous Medal Feast

His Eminence Jose F. Cardinal Advincula, Jr., D.D. urged the faithful gathered at the San Vicente de Paul Parish last November 27 to remain in fervent prayer in the Blessed Mother, for her intercession and guidance.
The new Manila Archbishop, in his homily during the Concelebrated Mass in honor of the Feast of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, prompted the community to look at Mary as a role model.
"Si Maria ang huwaran natin ngayon sa panahon ng Adbiyento. Siya ang ating halimbawa sa paghahanda at pananabik sa Panginoon sapagkat ang buong buhay ni Maria ay nakatuon kay Hesus. Ang buong buhay ni Maria ay nakaturo kay Hesus kaya't si Maria ay huwarang tagasunod," he said.
He also encouraged everyone to be open to give and receive, and like the Blessed Mother, accept God’s plan and continue receiving His grace while also being a giver – a vessel – at the same.
“Ang pagbubukas ng ating buhay kay Hesus ay nagbubunsod sa atin na magbukas din ng sarili sa kapwa ng may malasakit at pagmamahal,” he continued.
“Pinagyaman ni Maria ang lahat sa kanyang puso kaya nga’t matapos niyang iluwal si Hesus sa mundo, nanatili si Hesus sa kanyang puso, mula sa kapayapaan ng Bethlehem hanggang sa dilim ng kalbaryo hanggang sa iniakyat siya sa langit, kaluluwa at katawan.”
This year’s theme of celebrations revolves around "Mary: Wellspring of Miracles and Strength in Pandemic Time."
