IE tech projects land in BIDA Awards top five

Two teams from the Industrial Engineering Department are in the top 5 of this year’s Business Idea and Development Award (BIDA).
Team Orenda: Retractable Farm Shield composed of Marava Joyce Alcaraz, Joana Camille Anastacio, Socorro Louise dela Cruz and Carl Joyce Marty, and Mr. Bin made up of Abdullah Galo, Jr., Brian Matthew Morente, Gwyneth Kate Panganiban and Edilberto Tuason, Jr. reached the final leg of the competition.
Engr. Lourdes Lasian served as adviser for both teams.
“[We] would like to congratulate the Adamson University representatives for this year's BIDA Awards,” Adamson University Neo Science and Technology Incubation Center (AdUNEST INC) wrote on their online post.
BIDA is a program of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) that recognizes “the creativeness and innovativeness of the products, technology, or services using available local, indigenous and recycled materials… [and development of] an entrepreneurial culture and a sense of nationalism among Filipino youth and promote entrepreneurship as a significant component in sustainable economic development.”
