The ECE prof conducted a webinar talk titled “Environment & Energy – Revisited” sponsored by the Oman, Rizal and Soccskargen Chapters of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP). The event held last July 24 was streamed via Zoom and IECEP’s Youtube account.

In his lecture, Dr. Beltran reminded participants, mostly local and foreign Electronics Engineers in practice or the academe, roles and responsibilities with the environment, namely the growing concern of climate change and global warming problems where the usage of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas play a vital role in environmental pollution.

“We all have our shares to help mitigate the environmental problems that we are currently facing,” he stressed.

He further discussed the present status, recent trends, and future challenges about Environment and Energy, and shared advice on how engineers, the community, government, and private sectors can help in alleviating the climate crisis and environmental degradation.
