The Vincentian Community in San Marcelino continued to remember the Feast Day of Saint Vincent de Paul despite limitations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Vincentian Fathers, along with select members of the parish community, took part in a concelebrated mass led by Fr. Gregorio Banaga, Jr., CM in honor of the Congregation of the Mission's founder last September 27 at the San Vicente de Paul Parish.

The CM - Philippines Provincial Visitor, in his homily, reminded the community of God's undying love embodied by people like Adamson U's patron.

"The fire of God's love in Saint Vincent would not stop at anything to alleviate their [the poor] poverty and relieve their misery from spiritual means," he said.

This echoed the points of Fr. Earl Allyson Valdez, Parochial Vicar of the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, who headed the morning mass.

"Saint Vincent, whose feast we celebrate today as a parish community, sees blessedness… not just in the mercy of God and [not] just his sense of pity on the poor, on the uneducated who wanted to be priests that moved him to his mission," he said.

"[He} sees that they are worth paying attention to because God is blessing them; God is in them."

Other Eucharistic celebrations were also held in honor of Vincent in other Vincentian institutions, including the Santuario de San Vicente de Paul in Quezon City where AdU President Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim, CM led the holy sacrifice of the mass. University Chaplain Fr. Agustin Advincula, CM, also officiated one inside the University Chapel for the members of the Adamson Community.
