The Soaring Falcons have their big man of the future.
This is after Ilocano big Cedrick Manzano of Hua Siong College of Iloilo committed to play for San Marcelino in the UAAP.
The 18-year old was a former Palarong Pambansa volleyball player during his elementary days before eventually transitioning to basketball when he was recruited by Hua Siong when he was in Grade 11.
Then UST head tactician Aldin Ayo also recruited Manzano to join his wards and play for the Espana-based squad in UAAP Juniors Basketball, but it never came to fruition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Another product of Hua Siong is Ayo’s former player with the Growling Tigers, and now De La Salle Green Archer, Mark Nonoy.
The native of Romblon revealed he tried out for several schools before landing in the Falcons’ Nest, also with the help of former Adamson star Ryan Monteclaro.
Manzano will shore up the frontline of the Falcons which recently lost reigning Juniors’ MVP Jake Figueroa who transferred to National University.
