Fr. Daniel Franklin Pilario, CM, Dean of the Saint Vincent School of Theology, has been chosen as one of the reflection-givers in a webinar organized by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines – Basic Ecclesial Community to be held June 19.
Fr. Pilario will give his thoughts on Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma’s talk on The Priests’ Pastoral Accompaniment of BECs in the Pandemic during the said webinar titled A Continuing Pastoral Accompaniment of BECs in the Philippines.
Other speakers in the said online forum include Most. Rev. Orlando Cardinal Quevedo, Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Cotabato, and Most Rev. Charles John Brown, Papal Nuncio to the Philippines.
It can be remembered that the SVST Dean has been an avid contributor in the Congregation of the Mission’s BECs in Payatas, especially Project SOW (Solidarity with Orphans and Widows), a group of families, mostly wives, whose loved ones were victims of extrajudicial killings.
Fr. Pilario has also led programs of the SVST during this pandemic which has greatly contributed to the development of BECs in their immediate vicinity.
In June of last year, Project SOW produced Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) distributed to different hospitals in the Metro. Another BEC has also established its own community garden where locals can get produce for their daily meals.
