IT, IS, ACT studes ace Microsoft Certification

Students from the Information Technology, Information Systems, and Associate in Information Technology programs of the University ‘made it happen’.

The three departments from the College of Science posted a perfect overall passing rate in the Certification Exam in Microsoft Technology Associate conducted this Second Semester of the SY 2020-2021.

The 206 total passers include 12 students under Associate in Computer Technology (ACT), eight students under BS Information Systems and 186 Students under BS Information Technology.

Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) is an entry-level credential that validates fundamental technology skills and knowledge among students and job-seekers pursuing a career in technology, addressing a wide range of critical technology concepts with exams designed to assess and validate core technical concepts in three primary areas: Developer, Database, and IT Professional.

The said lessons have been integrated to the students’ Database subjects with assistance from the Continuing Professional Development Department (CPDD), I.T. Works, and the IT and IS Department.

Candidates for this exam seek to prove their introductory knowledge of and skills with databases, including relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server. They are expected to be familiar with the concepts of and have hands-on experience with the technologies either by taking relevant training courses or by working with tutorials and samples available on MSDN and in Microsoft Visual Studio.
