BED lands atop Canticle Choralefest anew

A perennial powerhouse is back on top at the Canticle Choralefest.

Basic Education Department (BED), the 2018 and 2019 titlists, once again asserted their dominance, besting six other groups for another championship in the Campus Ministry Office’s annual choir competition held online last May 18.

BED roused spectators with a rendition of Awit ng Pagsuyo, a nod to this year’s theme Mary's Canticle, Our "YES" to God's Mission. The College of Engineering, who performed Ave Maria finished Second Place.A choir made of employees from the Office of the President and Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs capped Third Place with Stella Maris

Given the present situation, co-academic employees were allowed to join this year’s competition to extend the University’s goodwill. The winners received plaques of recognition and cash prizes. This year’s judges are Philippine Madrigal Singers' Ms. Jen Tolentino, renowned music talent and teacher Mr. Terrence Guillermo, and Fr. Rodge Cardenas, CM of Luke 4:18, a band made up of clergy from the Vincential Family of the Philippines..

Other participants include the College of Science, College of Nursing, College of Education and Liberal Arts, and the group from the Offices under the Administrative Affairs, Finance, and Student Affairs.
