The Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Certification program of the Information Technology and Information Science Department is now in full swing after officially recognizing its first batch of finishers.
Almost all students completed the two-batch program with 204 out of 209 receiving a passing mark in the concluding exam of the Advanced Database Management System course. The first batch began on August 22 of last year, while the other followed on October 18.
IT&IS, in coordination with the Continuing Professional Development Department (CPDD), and I.T. Works, integrated the Microsoft Technology Associate Certification Exam in their Database Subjects.
The MTA program is an entry-level credential that validates fundamental technology skills and knowledge among students and job-seekers pursuing a career in technology, addressing a wide range of critical technology concepts with exams designed to assess and validate core technical concepts in three primary areas: Developer, Database, and IT Professional.
Candidates for this exam seek to prove introductory knowledge of and skills with databases, including relational databases, such as the Microsoft SQL Server.
The takers of this program are expected to be familiar with the concepts of and have hands-on experience with the said technologies, either by taking relevant training courses or by working with tutorials and samples available on MSDN and in Microsoft Visual Studio. Although minimal hands-on experience with the technologies is recommended, job experience is not assumed for these exams.
