ECE prof is Guest Speaker in Scopus Webinar

Dr. Angelo A. Beltran Jr. of the Electronics Engineering Department was recently invited as speaker for a webinar organized by Springer SN Applied Sciences (Scopus Index), a world-renowned publisher of science-oriented books and journals.
“It is an honor and pleasure to be invited as one of the speakers for the webinar series hosted by SN Applied Sciences,” Dr. Beltran said.
“A webinar platform like these provides an avenue to interact with international experts and audience who are currently working in the same field of interest, i.e., computational intelligence and renewable energy,” he continued.
According to Springer’s brief, the webinar “addresses the maximum power point tracking for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.”
In this talk, the fuzzy logic control technique using Opal-RT machine is presented. The effectiveness of fuzzy logic is compared with the perturb and observe algorithm. Results demonstrate that it provides a better performance.
