Fr. Kenneth Centeno, CM began his teaching career at the Saint Vincent School of Theology on a high note after being the keynote speaker in one of SVST’s academic conferences held via Zoom and Facebook Live last February 24.
Fr. Centeno, who recently received his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Aachen in Germany, delivered a discussion on Negotiating the Sacred, which alluded to his doctorate thesis titled Renegotiating the Sacred: A Search towards a New Way of Understanding the Filipino Concept of God which he defended just last year. Fr. Rolando Tuazon, CM moderated the event.
The said lecture questioned what constituted the Sacred, or the ‘banal’ for Filipinos during the pandemic and how the “discourse of ‘loob’ remains an essential compass in navigating the intricacies of Filipino consciousness vis-à-vis the push and pull of, and on the sacred.
Fr. Centeno received his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen University, Germany after defending his dissertation titled Renegotiating the Sacred: A Search for a New Way of Understanding the Filipino Concept of God last November 16.
