New dean takes charge in CBA

The movement of administrators in the College of Business Administration continues as a new dean assumes position this February 2021.
Dr. Ruben Nayve, Jr. was appointed as the new head of CBA, taking the helm from Dr. Amy Daraway , the Chairperson for the Management and Markeitng Departments, who served as officer-in-charge after the retirement of previous dean, Dr. Brigida Octavio.
A Doctor of Philosophy in Economics degree holder, Dr. Nayve vows to up the ante on CBA’s partnership, and research endeavors.
“The College, already [has] an established unit in [the] University and may only need a bit of improvement in the areas of its industry-government collaborations, students and faculty engagements, innovative course offerings, but need more time to strengthen research output and activities,” he said.
“These are the areas where my exposure I earned from the private and public sectors including overseas will benefit the College,” Dr. Nayve continued.
The new BA dean is the Chairman Emeritus of the Council of Economics Educators Inc. (CECON), and has served as sub-comittee Chairperson for the Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PCCI), Education Committee. He holds an MA and PhD in Economics from UST, received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from Bicol University.
A researcher, peer reviewer, editor, he is also a former PACUCOA accreditor and member of CHED Regional Quality Assessment Team and curriculum consultant of DepEd, CHED and DOST-Public Science High School System.
He is the incumbent Executive Vice President of Ace2Ace Prime Holdings, Inc., a business development firm specializing in data privacy compliance, social media communications, and other like projects.
In the academe, he has served as an administrator in St. Scholastica’s College-Manila, Lyceum of the Philippines – Batangas, St. Jude College, La Consolacion College – Manila, and Siena College – Quezon City,
“My 30 years in the academe as faculty and administrator, along with my overseas stints will be big boost to further enhance the operations of the College of Business Administration,” Dr. Nayve told the Adamson News.
Dr. Nayve has served as faculty member in INTI International University and Colleges, and Taylor’s University in Malaysia, and was a consultant of Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC). As part of TU industry-academe collaborations, he has published a research paper with Research Gate and became a member of the Scientific Committee of Euro-Asia Conference hosted by the said institution.
