NSTP head, NROTC cadets receive Navy Brown Cross

The head of the University’s National Service Training Program (NSTP) and three Navy Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) were chosen as recipients of the Brown Cross for their service during the armed forces’ efforts amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fr. Andrew Bayal, CM, also AdU’s VP for Student Affairs and a reserved Major of the Navy, along with CDT/Col. Ronald C Faduga 1CL (Corps Commander), CDT/LCol. Yoshihiro Gurtiza 1CL (Corps Operation and Training), and CDT/LCol. Benedik Von L Solomon 1CL (Corps Logistics and Finance) of the 246th NROTC Unit Class Masinag 2021, were lauded as volunteer reservists through the order of Philippine Marine Corps Commandant Maj. Gen. Ariel Caculitan ‘for Volunteering and Service in the Pandemic.’

“Today we honor the following men who have risked their safety while we stayed at home and at our comfort. These men heeded the call of duty and volunteered for the betterment of the country,” the 246th NROTCU said in a Facebook post hailing the achievement.

The Bronze Cross is awarded to individuals ‘who have performed heroism involving risk of life during voluntary deeds evidenced by extraordinary bravery.
