The pandemic did not stop the Office for University Relations (OUR) in catering to Adamson’s international student leaders as it hosted a virtual leadership training last December 9.
The seminar held via Zoom was attended by 12 officers, and five recent graduates of the International Students’ Association of Adamson University (ISAAD).
In his discussion, guest speaker Mr. Johnny Sy, an industry adviser to Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) AnimoLabs of De La Salle University and UPSCALE (UP Sustaining Collaboration in Advanced Learning Environment) Innovation Hub of the University of the Philippines, discussed leadership development, and leadership amid and after the Covid-19 fiasco.
The former ABS-CBN Chief Information Officer instrumental in the development of the TVPlus Digibox led a productive exchange of ideas and experiences, engaging the participants to more than three hours of dialogue.
He clarified the identity of a student-leader, and mentioned his three pillars of leadership development – being, knowing, and doing.
Sr. Maruja Padre Juan, OUR Director, told the Adamson News that her office has continued to explore possibilities to continue such engagements especially with those who reamined in the country due to the travel restrictions brought by the pandemic.
OUR also launched an essay writing and a three-minute video making contest focused on international students’ experiences and realizations during the pandemic and all its ensuing lockdowns and restrictions.
