The University maintained its ISO 9001:2015 accreditation after the second follow-up audit conducted by TÜV Rheinland Philippines, Inc. last December 4.

According to a report by the auditing team led by Mr. Lionell Aala, Adamson U has satisfied the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard and has incurred zero minor or major Non-Conformities (NC).

The audit recognized major changes in University operations including the shift to virtual classes due to the Covid-19 pandemic; the onsite and Work-from-Home scheme of faculty members and employees; the plan to construct the AdU NEST-INC, Technology Business Incubation of AdU; implementation of the new Teachers Behavioral Inventory (TBI); renaming the Office of Athletics and Recreation to Office for Athletic Development; transfer of Archives and Museum function to the Library Services Department; and the Revisions in different manuals effective last August 1, 2020.

The team composed of three auditors met with four Document Custodians, five Lead Auditors, and 32 Internal Quality Auditors from Adamson and lauded the University for its developments in its academics, management, management systems, facilities and management compliance but also gave recommendations and opportunities of improvement in the University’s internal audit, procurement, library, chemical laboratory, Basic Education, guidance services, human resource, student affairs, registrar, and health services departments.

Mr. Aala and the audit team were also satisfied with the University’s academic and administrative objectives dated 2017-2022 despite struggles in simultaneously adjusting to the changing requirements of regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies; free tuition fees in State Universities; compliance to Data Privacy Law and TRAIN Law; performance in board exams; effects of COVID-19 to school operations; implementation of CQI system under OBE; CMO No. 15 Series of 2020 Policies, Standards and Guidelines for Graduate Programs; CMO No. 4 Series of 2020 Guidelines in the Implementation of Flexible Learning; IATF Resolutions and its amendments on Omnibus Guidelines in the Implementation of Quarantine in the Philippines; and Data Privacy Council Education Sector Advisory No. 2020-1 Data Privacy and Online Learning.

Members of AdU top management were  always present during the whole duration of the audit although the number of people present were limited following the implemented health and safety protocols against the pandemic.

Such presence of top administrators amid Covid-19 proves the University’s commitment in implementing AdU’s Quality Management System (QMS) and optimizing it for better operation of the institution.

Auditors cheked the Accountancy Department, the College of Engineering and Chemistry Laboratories, Center for Innovative Learning, Basic Education Department and the Senior High School Department during the said follow-up visit.

The Institutional Planning and Policy Development Office (IPPDO) headed by Engr. Noe Enriquez, also AdU’s Deputy Quality Management Representative and Data Privacy Officer, manages quality management operations and affairs in the University. The office hosted the said onsite audit and presented past audit findings and other QM documents in the meeting that lasted a whole day.

Adamson first received an ISO 9001:2008 from TÜV Rheinland on January 18, 2013. Since then, it has maintained its certification and transitioned smoothly to ISO 9001:2015 last December 7, 2017.
