Adamsonians, once again, proved that the University excels in the performing arts as the Adamson Chorale, and Mr. Reynato Resureccion, conductor of the Brass Band, were chosen as nominees of the 33rd Aliw Awards to be held this December 8 at the Fiesta Pavillion of the Manila Hotel.

In a Zoom event streamed last October 31, nominations were announced by a panel composed of Aliw Foundation’s screening committee and members of the press.

Resureccion, an oboist, was chosen as entrant for Best Instrumentalist along with Dingdong Fiel (Piano), Conrado Del Rosario (Saxophone), Herald Sison (Clarinet), Jong Cuenco (Flute), and Ariel Sta. Ana (Clarinet). He is currently an assistant principal oboist of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO).

The Chorale, meanwhile, was chosen as one of the nominees for Best Chorale Group along with TRIBU, St. Dominic Sabio Chorale, The Lighter Side Movement Choir, and Kundirana.

AdU Chorale’s recent accolades include a second runner-up finish in the 2019 Philtoa Eco Chorale Competition, and the championship and Best Show Choir award during the 2018 MBC National Chorale Competition.

The Chorale and Brass Band are two of the seven performing arts groups under the Cultural Affairs Office (CAO) whose members are given scholarship by the University.
