Gymnastics wonderkid Carlos Yulo continued his award-winning run, winning bronze in the vault event of the recently-concluded 53rd All-Japan Senior Masters Gymnastics Championships in Takasaki, Japan.
The event was his first competition since the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
Yulo tallied 14.733 points, securing a tie with Japanese Kenzo Shrai for third while the latter’s countrymen Wataru Kanigawa and Keisuke Asato also finished tied for the top spot with 14.900 points apiece.
He finished in 12th place with 83.839 points from six events.
The 20-year old gymnastic prodigy is expected to find his form once he competes in the Tokyo Olympics.
Yulo visited Adamson U last October after bagging the gold medal in the Men’s Floor Exercise event of the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
