Adamson U opened the School Year 2020-2021 last August 24 fully implementing flexible learning which it adopted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
AdU registered 14, 127 enrollees for its college department in the first year of the said online method, a fair decline from last year’s numbers.
Despite the expected decrease in enrollment, especially in private educational institutions, the University still posted 10,338 enrollees for its college level, including graduate departments, 1,315 for the Basic Education department, and 2,504 for Senior High School.
AdU also welcomed 2,545 freshmen, just 15% lower from its target of 3000 this year.
The College of Engineering remains to have the biggest student population with 3,727 students while the College of Business Administration and the College of Science posted 2,101 and 1,643,
respectively.
The Colleges of Architecture (718), Liberal Arts (582), Pharmacy (385), Education (270), Nursing (237), and Law (148) also tallied modest enrollment numbers. The Graduate School had 507 enrollees.
With the pandemic still looking to be far from over, AdU shifted to flexible distance learning to continue providing instruction and education to its students while following health and safety protocols set by the government.
The University revamped its online education capabilities, acquiring the Blackboard Learn Learning Management System, and establishing the Center for Innovative Learning to lead flexible learning operations in AdU.
AdU has also provided a laptop loan program for students and teachers, as well as load allowance to support the community’s online needs.
As of this writing, it remains unclear if classes will be reverted back to face-to-face method on the Second Semester. Adamson U opened the School Year 2020-2021 last August 24 fully implementing flexible learning which it adopted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
