Dr. Hazel Ann Catublas of the College of Pharmacy placed second in the Three-minute Pitch to Policy Makers competition organized by the DOST- Philippine Council for Health Research and Development last August 14.

Her pitch titled Bridging the Gap for the Improvement of Access to Healthcare of the Deaf Filipino Community bested nine of the 11 one entries held via online conferencing application, Zoom.

Dr. Catublas’ winning pitch was based on her research Development and Validation of Instructional Materials in Improving Communication and Medication Literacy of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Patients.

The three-minute pitch event focused on presentation of a completed research via a three-minute, one-slide presentation for a non-specialist audience.

The Metro Manila Health Research and Development Consortium (MMHRDC) acknowledge this feat through a congratulatory post on their Facebook page.

Despite the limitations due to the safety and health protocols against the COVID-19 pandemics, seminars and competitions have been limited to online meetings using multiple virtual conference applications.
