The College of Engineering has begun yesterday giving away face shields to Adamson U staff working onsite amid the pandemic.
The frames of the said face shields were made in-house using Engineering’s two 3D printers, and were fabricated by the college’s laboratory personnel.
Guidelines were followed during the distribution at the Engineering Dispensing Room, OZ Building to ensure proper health and safety protocols.

According to Engr. Davie Jone Niverca, the head of Engineering Laboratories, a 1:1 employee-face shield ratio was implemented, and was tracked using attendance sheets where the employees sign after receiving the personal protective equipment. ‘No face mask/shield, no entry’ policy was also followed.
Eng’g also imposed a time frame where employees can only get their face shields from 8AM to 3PM. Offices of the skeletal workforce were also given specific timetables to get their face shields.

As of press time, Eng’g continues to produce the face shields for continuous distribution.
