New acquisitons continue to pile up for the library this quarantine period as the department forged various partnerships to provide the Adamsonian community with alternatives for face-to-face learning which halted due to threats of the CoViD-19 pandemic.
The department has secured partnerships with HeinOnline for database sources, ScienceDirect for eTextbooks, and Gale for an online training.
HeinOnline, a US-based commercial internet database service provider, has opened its International Core of database, featuring more than 2,800 multidisciplinary journals, for campus-wide and remote access until December 2020.
The system also features tools to help researchers maximize the database contents.
ScienceDirect, one of the top scientific, medical and technical research database providers, meanwhile, opened 257 titles of free eTextbooks for free access until the last day of August 2020.
Gale, a Cengage Company, also offered free online trainings on their reference database last June 11.
