Fr. Bañaga remains CM Provincial Visitor

Fr. Gregorio L. Bañaga, Jr., CM remains the top Vincentian in the Philippines after being re-elected as the Provincial Visitor of the Congregation of the Mission’s Philippine Province.

Fr. Gregg, as he is called by his peers, will serve his second term after initially being voted to the position last 2017.

“We have submitted the result of the second balloting for the Election of the Visitor of the Philippine Province to the Superior General, Fr. Tomaz Mavric, CM last April 23, 2020. Fr. Mavric and the General Council confirmed the result of the election during the General Council meeting held on May 4, 2020,” the CM Philippines Election Commission said on their congratulatory message and announcement on the congregation’s website.

“ [T]he Superior General in his letter from Rome dated May 15, 2020 has requested us in the Election Commission to convey to the confreres the appointment of Fr. Gregorio Lapus Banaga, Jr., CM as the Visitor of the Philippine Province for the second term of three years with effect from 15 June 2020.”

Fr. Bañaga will continue to oversee the CM Philippine Province for three more years, until 2023.

Upon appointment to his present position, he served as president of Adamson University from 2003 to 2015.
