STAYING true to their Vincentian roots, Adamson University (AdU), and the Saint Vincent de Paul Parish took response initiative on the threats and effects brought by CoViD-19.

The University, the Parish, and the Miraculous Medal Appstolate launched project COVID, or Charity Over Virus Indifference and Despair, to raise fundings for relief efforts to street-dwellers and less-fortunate families living within the immediate community, and others affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) enforced in Metro Manila.

AdU student-athletes who are staying at the University’s dormitories are also actively participating in the University and Saint Vincent de Paul Parish’s CoViD-19 ECQ programs, such us repacking hygiene kits for UP-PGH personnel.

Feeding programs for street dwellers and food distribution to disadvantaged communities continue, as donations and sponsorships flow in the name of charity.

AdU Alumni also started various fundraising and donation drives to provide PPEs and medical materials for frontliners serving at the University of the Philippines- Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH).

Meanwhile, AdU already suspended its online classes, but retained uploaded exercises although compliance was to be given liniency.

In an advisory last March 18, the Administration announced that Midterm examinations and  gradings are temporarily shelved until the official resumption of classes. All on-the-job trainings, and immersions were also indefinitely suspended.

To serve as educational alternative during the month-long ECQ, the AdU Library encouraged students, faculty, and researchers to use its online database. The library also extended the die date of borrowed library materials.

The University has already cancelled all events within the current school year including its Foundation Anniversary to be celebrated this March. Release of the results of University Entrance Examination (UEE), and other transactions are also to be adjusted accordingly as all offices in the University were closed.

AdU Administrators mandated a work-from-home format to its employees to ‘ensure everyone’s well-being’. Financial assistance were also extended to all faculties, as well as permanent and contractual employees.
