ACCREDITED. Arch. Sylvester Shaun Seño receives the NCCA certification accrediting the University as a recoognized CSO.
The University has continued to reach for its goal of increased connectivity and cultivation of external strategic partnerships towards delivering quality education after it was recognized by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) as a Civil Society Organization (CSO).
This drive, headed by the College of Architecture, will enable Adamson to qualify for possible grants given by NCCA in different research interests - architecture and allied arts, cinema, dance, dramatic arts, literary arts, music and visual arts.
Disaster Risk Management Plan of Vigan Heritage Zone Using the ISO 9001:2015 Model, a research project from Architecture, was also awarded a half-million peso research grant during the NCCA Commission meeting last November 19.
The study led by Arki Dean Arch. Sylvester Seño involves its faculty members, students, and external consultants specializing in heritage in conducting a site documentation and mapping, archival research, needs analysis, inter-stakeholder workshop and consultative sessions, towards the production of a conservation management plan considering possible manmade and natural disaster risks. This was based from the NCCA Resolution No. 2020-206, in their 2020 NCCA Competitive Grants Program
A memorandum of agreement is to be signed between the University and the NCCA for the above-mentioned project. The output, individually written in English, Filipino and Cebuano, will then be handed over to the local government of Vigan.
Once completed, the project is expected to pave the way for the College to undertake possible heritage, architecture and art-related research endeavors. Reports from Arch. Sylvester Seño
