John Figueroa currently sits atop the MVP ladder of the UAAP 82 Juniors Basketball tournament after the first round of competitions.
The rookie swingman has led the third-ranked boys from San Marcelino with averages of 12.1 points, 14.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks -- good for a league-leading 68.86 statistical points (SPs).
NU-Nazareth School slotman Kevin Quiambao ranks second while FEU-Diliman guard Penny Estacio, Sean Torculas of UPIS and Lebron Lopez of Ateneo round up the top five.
Still seeking to secure another place in the Final Four with a 4-4 win-loss card, the Baby Falcons expect the same numbers from Figueroa.
