The Soaring Falcons unleashed a scorching 16-0 finish to upset University of Santo Tomas (UST), 78-72, Wednesday, in the UAAP 82 Men’s Basketball tournament at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

UST was leading 61-72 with three minutes remaining until one-and-done guard Valandre Chauca led an Adamson onslaught while holding the UST offense scoreless until the final buzzer.

Chauca, who emerged as one of Adamson’s main weapons this season, topped the Falcons’ turnaround punching 11 of his 18 points in the final canto.

The Fil-Peruvian skipper also registered six boards and eight dimes as the Falcons soar to share third place with UST with a 3-2 win-loss card.

"We got a big lift from Val. That's why he's here. He's here to guide this young team," head coach Franz Pumaren said.

Main gunner Jerrick Ahanmisi also had another stellar performance with 24 points, four rebounds and three assists as they redeemed their meltdown against the University of the Philippines.

“We needed this game to boost our confidence back," coach Franz said.

The Falcons will try to register their fourth victory as they face the De La Salle Green Archers on Saturday at the Ynares Centre in Antipolo.
