Cheers echoed inside the SV Gym as the University held its annual Pep Rally despite classes being suspended due to inclement weather.
The Adamson Community came out full-force to wish the varsity teams good luck for the incoming University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 82 and watch them give back to their sixth man. This year’s send-off held last August 27 had the theme Arise: Bring out the Falcon in you.
Adamson President Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim, CM opened the event by thanking the Falcons and assuring them of the University’s full support throughout the season which will be inaugurated on September 1.
The Adamson University Drummers and Yellers On Line (AUDYO) and Adamson Pep Squad also dazzled the crowd with their cheers while the other athletes performed their own presentations to the delight of the community.
Softball head coach Ana Santiago’s jersey number was also retired during the event. She was the first Adamsonian athlete to be conferred with such honor.
Santiago, a prodigy of Philippine baseball and softball great Filomeno “Boy” Codiñera, has been known as the architect of one of the UAAP’s best sports programs, building a dynastic run of nine straight championships in the league and recording an unprecedented 73-game winning streak.
