The Falcons settled for a third place game against the Lyceum Pirates as they bowed down to the San Beda Red Lions, 70-75, in the semifinals of the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup last June 20 in San Juan.

The game was tightly contested but was decided by the experience of San Beda which converted a clutch three to break the deadlock at 70 with 1:08 remaining.

Guards Jerom Lastimosa and Joem Sabandal then committed crucial turnovers, sealing the game for the Red Lions.

Rookie Aaron Fermin anchored the Adamson offense with 22 points, seven rebounds and two assists and one block in a game which saw the Falcons tally an uncharacteristic 18 turnovers.

James Kwekuteye paced the Red Lions with 16 points and seven rebounds while eventual tournament MVP Donald Tankoua posted a 15-point and 10-rebound double-double.

The game between the Falcons and the Pirates will be on June 23.
