Adamson University successfully passed the recertification audit for ISO 9001:2015 Management System conducted by the auditors of TUV Rheinland last December 7 and 13, 2018.

In their Recertification Audit Report, the audit leader Jogina Mendiola and her team, composed of Ernesto Demoy, Kharen Concepcion, Rhene Rose Zara and Michelle Pestañas, found zero nonconformity. They noted that “the organization has established and maintains an effective system to ensure compliance with its policy and objectives. The audit team confirms in line with the audit targets that the organization’s management system complies with, adequately maintains and implements the requirements of the standard(s).”

As a result, the auditors recommended the award of a new certificate to Adamson University. The scope of certification is Provision of Academic (Basic, Tertiary, Graduate) and Support Services, meaning the certification covers the entire institution.

AdU’ management system effectiveness was verified on site by means of random sampling, applying in particular to the compliance of workflows with standard requirements and the descriptions in management system documentation. The special features of the organization’s business activities, the applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and the requirements set forth in other generally applicable documents were also taken into account. This was done by means of a sampling approach, by conducting interviews and reviewing the appropriate documentation.

Among the positive findings noted by the auditors in the academic aspect were the above-national-passing percentage in board exams, the number of completed researches, the university’s Centers of Development (CODs), the various accreditations, and the numerous scholarship grants. On the co-academic side, the auditors commended the erection of the Falcon’s Nest 2 athletes’ dorm, the championship win of the chorale in a national competition, and the launching of the Community Mobile Library among others.

Adamson University first got an ISO 9001:2008 from TUV Rheinland on January 18, 2013. Since then, it has maintained its certification and even transitioned smoothly to an upgraded version, ISO 9001:2015, last December 7, 2017. The new recertification reiterates the university’s desire to continually push forward and distinguish itself as one of the top universities in the country.
