Eleven third-year Hospitality Management students went to Daegu Health College, South Korea last November 7-14, 2018 to undergo K-Food Training. They comprise the first batch of trainees from the Hospitality Management Department of Adamson University.
The participants included Guiane M. Coyoca, David Joseph S. Dacanay, Riane Ray D. De Castro, Ryan Christian G. Guanco, Alfonso Nathaniel V. Hugo, Joan Maila A. Jayag, Eastern Jane H. Ofalla, Noriel G. Pacaanas, John Patrick P. Singian, Rafael Adrian T. Sisa, Rodrigo P. Sta. Maria. They were accompanied and supervised by Ms. Judy B. Mappala, HM chairperson.
The objective of the training program is to establish cooperation between Adamson University and Daegu Health College in order to promote academic enrichment and deepen understanding of the cultures of the Philippines and South Korea.
A wide range of activities were participated in by the students, such as hands-on practice on Korean foods, interaction and immersion with Korean people and culture, visit to a five-star hotel, visit to different restaurants, and visit to iconic images in the area.
It will be recalled that Adamson University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with South Korea-based Daegu Health College last January 24, 2018, establishing mutual cooperation in academic research activities and programs. This HM training owes its realization to the MOU.
